Mass retailers decide to offer recycled conventional plastics, which is definitely not in line with the measures set out in EU Directive 2015/720. Recycled or not, plastic is an inert material which, when used on a daily basis, has negative economic, environmental and human health effects. In addition, plastic products below 30 microns do not allow recycling in the respective landfills (technological restriction), and last but not least, 1 plastic product must not go through more than 3 recycling cycles. The price of these products is often higher than for organic bioplastics, on the one hand due to the high production costs and on the other hand due to the ecological taxes to which plastics are subject according to the cited EU directive. The directive exempts products thicker than 50 microns from the product fee. At this thickness, however, the price is the same as the price for biodegradable and compostable bags.

Lnlike many other supplier companies, we are completely transparent about the content of our products. We offer packaging made from 100% pure BASF raw materials and this applies to all components, inks, and additives. We work with potato and vegetable starches which, in contrast to their corn starch and sugar cane analogues, are not treated with GMOs. Certified by the OK Compost Industrial and the Seedling logo labels, we guarantee products that are compostable in an industrial composting plant, meeting the requirements of the harmonized European Union EN 13432:2000 standard, and compliant with the requirements of the EU Packaging Directive.
